"A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams"
Our company may be small in size, but we have big ideas. We have a passion for helping our clients to create the home of their dreams. Our vision is based on building sustainable homes that conserve natural resources, use less energy and have good indoor air quality. We believe education is important and you should never stop learning – so we are continually educating both ourselves and our clients. If a homeowner understands how all the systems in their home work together, they are more likely to take special care to maintain the home, so it will serve them well for years to come. We build well built homes that provide a comfortable, healthy, and budget friendly environment. Our goal is not to build a large number of homes, but to focus on building quality homes that the home owners will enjoy for many years. A place to make memories, to watch children grow up, to entertain friends…a place to call “home.”

Greensboro Parade of Homes!
As the leaves begin to change color, and the air turns cooler, we all start to think of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas – special holidays that bring back memories of family, friends and home. So much of our lives revolve around our homes. Owning a home is part of the American dream. We watch shows on TV about decorating, remodeling, buying, staging and selling our homes. So if you are like millions of others that love to look at houses, whether you’re thinking of moving or just wanting to get ideas for your current abode, you’ll want to be sure to visit the Greensboro Builders Association Fall Parade of Homes.
Over the past few weeks I was fortunate to be asked to judge parade homes in other areas of North Carolina. It’s always a treat to see other builder’s work and how much pride the builders in North Carolina put into the homes that they build. So treat yourself and come out this weekend - October 23 & 24 from 1-5 and view some magnificent homes built by builders in the Triad. Both the Greensboro Builders Association and the Winston-Salem Builders Association have parade homes open to the public – get out and enjoy the gorgeous fall weather and dream about your next home. You can pick up a parade book at any parade house or for more info go online to either www.GreensboroBuilders.org or www.paradeofhomesws.com
You see it happen on TV, but you really don’t think it’s possible! Well, last week I had the opportunity to help build a house in one week. Although, we did have the slab foundation poured the week before and some of the walls framed and ready to set up at 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, everything else we actually did in a week! Why were we building a house in five days? Because the Greensboro Builder’s Association and Habitat for Humanity partner every other year in what we call ‘Raising Roofs’. This year there were hundreds of volunteers on site for the week long build at The Village at Northside in Greensboro. A total of six homes were built and one home remodeled during the week, so seven families now have a new place to call home. These homes were all built to EnergyStar and NAHB Green Standards. John Hodgin a member of the Greensboro Builders Association and Amanda Albert from Habitat for Humanity were the main coordinators for the event and they did a wonderful job. So, I now know from first hand experience that you really can build a house in just one week!! I was on the ‘Gold’ team and above is our finished house located at 1617 Sunrise Valley Drive, Greensboro, NC. Congratulations to the new home owners Mr. & Mrs. Ojo-Amoo and their three children!
At SwiftCreek Construction we build each home as if we were going to live there ourselves. We believe in building well built, sustainable homes using the latest techniques in building science principles. Although we definitely ‘lean towards green’, we also feel that recently “green” has become a very over-used term. What is a “green” home? It is a home that is planned from the start to consider the ‘whole house’. Starting with the selection of the building site and the floor plans, all systems of the home are designed to work together to create a home that will have lower energy costs, be more durable, require less maintenance, and will provide a more comfortable and healthier environment for the home-owners. Building a sustainable home is not an all or nothing decision. There are many ‘shades of green’ that you can choose from, based on your lifestyle, your needs, your desires, and of course your budget. We know that for most people their home is the largest investment they will make. Because of this we are dedicated to protecting and helping increase the value of that investment. We have based our company on principles that guarantee we meet or exceed our client’s expectations. These principles are quality workmanship, attention to detail, honesty, integrity, and professionalism. So when you see one of our homes…
“You’re looking at a well built home!”
